Connectors
The PD Tester can be constructed to meet the needs of your power distribution equipment. Costly outlets that are rarely used do not need to be installed in the base tester, as adapter cables are more economical. However, if your distribution equipment frequently uses specialty outlets and cables, these can be added to the tester as needed. Simply contact RTS Engineering or Rental Project Management with a list of the connectors your tester needs to be equipped with. We can guide you as to whether adapters are best for your needs or if the tester should be reconfigured.
Additionally, adapter cables can be constructed by your shop, or you can have RTS Engineering spec. them for you.
Program Changes
Because the PD Tester is microprocessor driven, the program code can be tailored to meet your specific needs. Some examples may include:
· Alternate phase indicator colors such as Black-Red-Blue versus the default of Red-Black-Blue (or specific high-voltage color coding).
· Changing Phase-rotation "Cautionary" messages into "Failed Test" messages requiring repair.
· Removal of the cautionary messages for Ground-to-Neutral bonding in specific cases, or all cases (not recommended).
· Modification or removal of "sleep modes" (also not recommended, as these sleep modes increase the lifespan of the tester).
· More detailed "Self-Diagnostics" which include testing the output signals from the microprocessor.
· Any additional change to the program code that suits your needs. Note that the program code is NOT a field upgradeable item, and the tester would need to be returned to RTS Engineering for changes made after delivery.
Enclosure
Because the enclosure is custom fabricated by RTS Engineering, dimensions and shape can be tailored to your specific needs.
